The Council of the Municipality of Chashka, at the session held on November 15, 2024, decided to adopt the Local Youth Strategy 2025-2025 of the Municipality of Chashka. The decision was made unanimously, with 11 votes in favour and none against.
Long-standing cooperation of the Municipality of Chashka with AKTIVO from Veles, in partnership with the NGO Info-center through the project “Alliances for Active Citizenry” supported by the European Union, in efforts to improve youth policies and the inclusion of young people resulted in the implementation of the initiative to prepare a new youth strategy, prepared in an open and participatory process with young people.
Twenty young people from the settlements of Chashka, Izvor and Gorno Jabolchiste, as well as members of youth organizations and youth organizations operating in the municipality, were involved in identifying strategic priorities, goals and future activities in the Municipality of Chashka.
The strategy covers eight key thematic areas (youth participation, youth information, youth work, education, culture, health, entrepreneurship and pre-employment support, and security), strategic priorities, goals and activities for each of the areas.
The initiative in cooperation with the Municipality of Chashka contributed to the active involvement of young people in decision-making at the local level, greater awareness, strengthening the role of young people in the municipality, recognition of youth needs and challenges, encouraging the progress and development of young people, as well as strengthening their role in society. The adoption of the local youth strategy is a motivating step for young people to be active citizens.
