Today, a public debate on the importance of communication for better mental health was held at Europe House Kriva Palanka, organized by RCC Spektar.
The debate presented the key findings of the analysis prepared based on the survey conducted, which included 20 parents and 21 young people from Kriva Palanka.
The author of the analysis, Nadica Skeparovska Petkovska, MA in Clinical Psychology and a certified psychotherapist from the European Association for Transactional Analysis, emphasized that mental health is at increasing risk and that it is crucial to discuss ways in which communication can help improve it. She recommended that for the mental development of young people, the most important thing is for them to have open and honest communication with their parents and teachers.
The participants in the debate developed a discussion on the challenges facing the community when it comes to the mental health of young people and that proactive inter-sectoral cooperation is necessary for better results. It was also underlined that special attention should be paid to young people with special needs and their mental needs, as well as to the special approach to boys and girls.
The public debate “The Power of Communication for Better Mental Health” was realized within the framework of the project “Alliances for Active Citizenry”, implemented by the NGO Info-center with financial support from the European Union.
