The project “Local inspection services in the interest of citizens” was designed to improve the functionality and transparency of local inspection supervision and to encourage two-way communication of local inspectors with civil society organizations and citizens in general.
We have achieved successful cooperation with almost all local inspection services in all eight planning regions in the country, as well as with the RNM Inspection Council. The local inspectors showed extraordinary interest and proactivity in participating in the educational workshops within the framework of the action. 186 local inspectors from 46 municipalities from all eight planning regions actively participated in the 16 workshops.
The fact that as many as 96 inspectors participated in the online survey dedicated to the experience of local inspection services when comparing the new Law on Inspection also speaks of the success of the action. The final public debate was attended by 97 local inspectors, as well as representatives from the State Commission for decision-making in the second degree in the field of inspection supervision and misdemeanour proceedings, representatives from the IS of RNM, from the State Inspectorate for Local Self-Government, from the State Inspectorate for Agriculture, from the State Anticorruption Commission.
We held nine info-meetings with local inspectors, titled “Meet Your Inspector”, in which 155 citizens, representatives from local civic organizations and representatives from municipalities participated.
Within the framework of the project, an analysis of the implementation of the Law on Inspection Supervision at the local level was prepared, from which a series of recommendations for improving the existing legislation emerged, which were submitted to the relevant institutions.
