On December 16, 2024, Glasen Tekstilec organized a debate attended by 17 representatives from the urban communities of the Municipality of Shtip. The debate discussed the implementation of the priorities signed in the Memorandum between Glasen Tekstilec and the Municipality of Shtip for the current year, as well as new proposals for the next year.

Key priorities of the Memorandum (2023–2025):

• Solving the problem with the old water supply network: Improving the pressure in high zones.

• Improving hygiene and waste management: Optimizing the work of public enterprises and increasing waste recycling.

• Infrastructure development: Completion of the “Partizanska” boulevard from AMD to the Babi settlement.

• Parking solutions: Construction of multi-storey garages and more parking spaces in the central city area.

• Environmental initiatives: Construction of a wastewater treatment plant and development of parks and playgrounds.

• Support for education: Provision of uniforms for primary school students.

• Improvement of municipal services: Formation of a Local Economic and Social Council.

The debate enabled an exchange of views on current priorities and ideas for improving the quality of life in the Municipality of Shtip.

The activity is part of the efforts of the Civic Dialogue Forum, the six partner civil society organizations (NGO Infocenter, Youth Cultural Center-Bitola, Community Center of the Municipality of Struga, Glasen Tekstilec, Spektar from Kriva Palanka and Civic Initiative of Women from Sveti Nikole) for the active involvement of citizens in determining and implementing local priorities in their communities.

The Civic Dialogue Forum is supported by the Olof Palme International Center from Sweden, and is implemented within the framework of the project “Active Citizens and Participatory Democracy at Local Level” of the NGO Infocenter.
