Today, the participants of the first women’s race in Strumica sent a message to the representatives of the Local Self-Government of the Municipality of Strumica about the need to apply the gender concept in the planning and implementation of budget programs.
The race was held in order to raise awareness among local authorities and citizens about the application of the gender concept in the planning and implementation of budget programs.
Gender-responsive policies contribute to the advancement of gender equality in the Municipality of Strumica, while taking into account the specific needs of women and men/girls and boys during planning and implementation in strategic municipal documents and in all phases of the budget process.
The mayor of the Municipality of Strumica appealed to women and girls to get involved in the upcoming processes of civil consultations for the creation of budget programs, so that the priorities that should improve the quality of their living are heard.
The event was organized by the Organization of Women from Strumica, within the framework of the project “Alliances for active citizenry”, implemented by the NGO Infocenter from Skopje and supported by the European Union.
