With aim to deepen and exchange practical knowledge and ideas, two-day regional workshop took place in Skopje on September 11 – 12, 2025, bringing together members of the Forum for Civic Dialog (FCD) and representatives from the POP Network from Albania.
The workshop was dedicated to sharing experiences from Albania. POP representatives, Esmeralda Hoxha and Blendi Dibra, presented models for identifying community priorities through effective consultation processes with citizens, strategies for translating civic insight into local policy change, and practical tools for citizen engagement. They also described their Social Contract methodology, as well as methods for public advocacy and cooperation with authorities.
The workshop was concluded with a joint discussion on future collaboration, shared challenges, and regional opportunities for collective action. FCD was established, as an informal network, in 2021, ahead of the local elections, by the NGO Info-centre, in partnership with the Olof Palme Centre, in order to further fostering opportunities for citizen participation at the local level.
