Vaccination against Covid-19

The NGO Infocenter, within the project “Fact-Based Information and Transparency for Successful Covid-19 Immunization”, monitors the media coverage of the vaccination process. The monitoring and analysis of the media reporting on Covid-19 immunization is realized through the news aggregator – Time.mk, which includes a total of 125 media – news (63), portals (48) and sports media (14), by searching by key words – “vaccination”, “Filipce” and “anti-vaccines”. The main purpose of the monitoring is to determine the intensity, quality and dominant narratives in the media coverage of the entire process of Covid-19 vaccination in the country. This report covers the period from November 1 to 10, 2021.

Key findings
The analysis of media coverage in the first ten days of November showed the following tendencies:

  •  The results of the local elections and the political developments in the country “suppressed” the vaccination as a main topic in the media.
  • News of Covid-19 and vaccination from around the world is prevalent.
  • Journalists report on the third dose of the vaccine, as well as whether the vaccines are effective against the new delta plus a strain of the coronavirus.
  • The media transmit ready statistics from the health institutions on the course and results of the immunization process in the country.
