On September 17, 2025, the analysis “China in the Macedonian Media: Analysis of Narratives and Influence”, prepared by the NGO Infocenter, was promoted in Skopje. The research focuses on how China is portrayed in the domestic media space and what impact these narratives have on public opinion and democratic processes.
The event was attended by journalists, media experts and representatives of civil society organizations. They discussed the role of the media in the transmission of international topics, as well as the importance of a critical approach when processing information from foreign sources.
The analysis indicates that certain media content can contribute to the formation of positive, but also one-sided representations of China, without sufficient context and verification. This, according to the authors, raises the question of the impact on public discourse and possible political implications.
The aim of the analysis is to stimulate a broader debate on the presence of foreign narratives in the Macedonian media and the need for transparent and balanced reporting.
