NGO Info-centre announces a call for applications for teams consisting of one woman journalist and one woman civil society activist to participate in the project “Gender-Sensitive Journalism for Local Media Pluralism (GEM)”.
The project aims to strengthen the professional capacities of local and regional media through gender-sensitive, ethical, and responsible journalism. At the same time, it encourages collaboration between women journalists and civil society activists and increases the visibility of gender equality issues in local communities.
WHO CAN APPLY?
The call is intended for teams consisting of:
– One woman journalist from a local or regional media outlet, and
– One woman civil society activist from a local or regional civil society organization
Teams should come from the same or nearby local community and have an interest in working on topics related to gender equality and the public interest.
WHAT DOES PARTICIPATION INCLUDE?
Selected teams will be expected to:
– Participate in an online training on gender equality and gender-sensitive reporting;
– Jointly produce gender-sensitive content relevant to their community;
– Publish the produced content in the media outlet where the journalist works;
– Work with mentoring support throughout the content development process; – Conduct an informative and educational session on gender equality and gender-sensitive reporting within the media outlet where the journalist is employed..
WHAT DOES THE PROJECT PROVIDE?
- Professional training;
- Continuous mentoring support;
- Financial compensation (honorarium) for each team member.
IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD
Selected participants are expected to be available and actively engaged during the period May – November 2026.
