The “Alliances for Active Citizenry” program of the NGO Info-center, supported by the European Union, continuously cooperates and encourages local civil society organizations to mobilize citizens and advocate for participatory democracy at the local level. By strengthening their organizational capacities for mobilization, advocacy and sustainable development, we support them in order to promote and practice participatory democracy at the local level.
The continuous cooperation and consultation resulted in a series of joint events and actions covering issues of gender equality and gender-based budgeting and policies at the local level, equal opportunities for men and women, youth activism and youth representation at the local level, the empowerment of rural women, struggle against peer violence, realization of the civil and political rights of persons with special needs, as well as protection of the environment.
